The Prime Directive Related subs- two x's, they do motorcycles over there.- sometimes you don't even know what it is that broke! Before using some sort of lubricant, I'd suggest copious amounts of cleaning fluid; gallons of brake cleaner will do.You want to wash away as much abrasive material as possible before adding a lubricant. If you just add the lube, those abrasive particles get trapped in the lube and will cause parts to wear down faster.HP air along with the cleaner to make sure anything loose is blown clear. As for WD-40, keep in mind that's it purpose is primarily water displacement (rust inhibitor); that's where the 'WD' comes from.
You need a dedicated lube that will adhere to parts and last a long time.
